Kindness
June 30, 2024Jump to What’s Happening at Crossroads

1 As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. 2 For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. 3 We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. 4 In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. 5 We have been beaten, been put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food. 6 We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. 7 We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. 8 We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors. 9 We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed. 10 Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. (2 Corinthians 6:1-10)
is a minister.
12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. (Colossians 3:12-13)
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Kindness is the of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives.
God is the of kindness.
4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) (Ephesians 2:4-5)
4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? (Romans 2:4)
7 God’s love for us is evidenced by the kindness he showed to us by sending Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sin. (Ephesians 2:7)
19 We love each other because he loved us first. (1 John 4:19)

The Back to School Assistance Program will be offered to the community at various times on Tuesday, July 9th through Friday, July 12th. If you would be interested in helping with the assistance program, fill out a short interest form.
NEXT SERIES
What is spiritual warfare? What is it not? Our next series is Let’s Talk About It: Spiritual Warfare which runs throughout July. This is a topic that brings confusion and fear to many. As a result, we can either ignore the topic or become so consumed with the topic we live in fear. Neither position is Biblical. In this series, we hope to have honest conversations on the main ideas of the spiritual opposition we face to our faith.
ONGOING SMALL GROUPS
Even though it’s summer, we have ways you can get involved. We have a ladies friendship nights group, women’s bible study, a quilting and crocheting group, a college-age students group, a young professionals group, and care groups. Find out more and sign up.
