January 12, 2024: Quitter’s Day

¹⁵ I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. ¹⁹ I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. ²⁴ Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? ²⁵ Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 7:15, 19, 24-25)

¹ And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice — the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. ² Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:1-2)

(Hebrews 10:23-25)

PRAYER & FASTING RESOURCES

We will be having a church-wide time of prayer and fasting starting January 7th. To learn more about the kinds of fasts and to find prayer resources, we have a page set up to help you.

DAILY PRAYER PROMPTS

Would you like a daily text to prompt you to pray during this Prayer and Fasting time? Text to 765.453.4626 (yes that is the church’s number) “prayer” and the time you’d like to receive. If it’s a morning time, don’t include “am” with your time, but if it’s an afternoon or evening time, you’ll need to include “pm.” For example, “Prayer 9:15” will sign you up for the prompts at 9:15 a.m. and “prayer 10:15 pm” will sign you up for the text at 10:15 p.m. If you have any problems signing up, check out our troubleshooting section on our Prayer & Fasting page.

WINTER GROUPS

We will be launching a round of small groups starting January 21st. We will be having open short-term groups, but we’ll also be having care groups and other ongoing groups open to join. Find out more info and sign up.

STUDENT REGISTRATIONS

We have two events coming up for students:

• Winter Retreat (8th-12th graders) — Friday, February 9th to Sunday, February 11th at Shiloh Park in Marion
• SuperStart (4th-6th graders) — March 1st to 2nd (early registration closes January 24th) at Trader’s Point in Whitestown

RE|ENGAGE MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT GROUP

We are so excited about a re|engage group starting Monday! Take your marriage to the next level by learning more about God’s design for it and connecting with other couples.
