8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. (Genesis 3:8)

11 Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. (Exodus 33:11)

Rules without = rebellion.

12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12)

is critical.

1 Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, 2 where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry. 3 Then the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone.” (Luke 4:1-4)

9 Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! 10 For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect and guard you. 11 And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.” 12 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.” (Luke 4:9-12)

There’s no such thing as hearing.

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Galatians 5:22-23)

What’s Happening at Crossroads

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

We want to honor moms with a delicious Crumbl cookie and a glass of personalized tea or lemonade! We also recognize that today may be a day of sorrow and pain for some. We pray you feel the comfort of God today. There will be a special moment in the gathering where you can acknowledge any heartache as we celebrate how important moms are to us!

NIGHT OF PRAYER

We hope you can join us for our Night of Prayer on Sunday, May 21st, at 6 p.m. at our Downtown campus. We believe that worshiping God is a big deal, and one of the ways we worship him is through intentionally carving out time to pray and listen to what God has for us. Whether you are new to prayer or you are a prayer warrior, this gathering is for you! Childcare will be provided for kids 5 and under, and the gathering will not be streamed.

FOSTER CARE MONTH

May is National Foster Care Month. Crossroads is committed to coming alongside foster families to support and help them make a difference in the lives of vulnerable kids. One of the most practical ways to help bless foster kids is to provide a complete or partial “Journey Bag.” Learn more about the importance of Journey Bags.

GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT SUNDAY

Some believe that to be a leader, you have to be a CEO or manager, have a high-ranking title, or “have it all together.” Not true! The Global Leadership Summit is redefining what it means to be a leader! The GLS will equip you with the leadership tools you need to ignite transformation in your life, work and community! Crossroads will again be hosting the Summit at our South Kokomo campus on August 3-4th. Save $20 by registering between May 21-31! Learn more at ecrossroads.org/gls2023/.

WOMEN’S SMALL GROUPS

One of our core values is “We become more like Jesus together.” Groups are a way for that to happen. We have two opportunities for women to connect starting in May. Sign up for a group or get more information.
