Speaker: Tim Perkins
Date: Nov 12, 2023
Scripture: Romans 8:33-39
Title: The Incomparable Love of God (pt 2)

(Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

1st Question: What then shall we say to ?

(Romans 8:31a ESV) What then shall we say to these things?(Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

2nd Question: If be who can be against us?

(Romans 8:31 ESV) What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

(Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

3rd Question: If God gave us won’t He give us else we need?

(Romans 8:32 NIV) He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ

(Philippians 1:6 NIV) being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

(Romans 33-39 NIV) Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

4th Question: Who shall bring a charge against God’s ?

(Romans 8:33 NIV) Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?

(2 Peter 3:9 NIV) The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.(Romans 8:33 NIV) Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.

(Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

5th Question: Who is he that ?

(Romans 8:34a NIV) Who is he that condemns?

(1 John 3:19-22 NIV) This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20 whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

(Jeremiah 17:9 NIV) The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

10“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.”

(1 John 3:20b NIV) God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

(1 John 3:21-22 NIV) 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

(Romans 8:34 NIV) Who is he that condemns?

(Romans 8:34 NIV) Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

  1. Christ Died

(Romans 8:34 NIV) Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

(1 Peter 1:18-19 NLT) For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. 19It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God

  1. Christ was raised

(Romans 8:34 NIV) Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

(Romans 4:25 NIV) He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

3. Christ is at the right hand of God

(Romans 8:34 NIV) Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

(Hebrews 10:10-14 NIV) And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. 13 Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, 14 because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

4. Christ is interceding for us

(Romans 8:34 NIV) Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

(Hebrews 7:24-25 NIV) because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

(Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

6th Question: Who shall separate us from the of ?

(Romans 8:35 NIV) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

(Romans 8:35 NIV) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

(Romans 8:36 NIV) As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

(Romans 8:37 NIV) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

“We are not just conquerors; we are more than conquerors. What can be more than a conqueror? It means there is nothing that can defeat us.” – Adrian Rogers

“In Romans 8:37, we find the astonishing promise that we are ‘more than conquerors’ through Christ. This verse reminds us that our faith is not just about surviving, but thriving in the face of adversity.” – Billy Graham

“The words ‘more than conquerors’ remind us that in Christ, we don’t just overcome trials; we emerge from them stronger, wiser, and more victorious than we could ever imagine.” – Charles Stanley

“Romans 8:37 tells us that even in the fiercest battles of life, we are not mere survivors; we are overcomers, and our victory is secured through God’s love.” – John Piper

“Through Christ, we are not just conquerors over external forces; we are ‘more than conquerors’ over our own doubts, fears, and insecurities.” – Joyce Meyer

“We often face situations that seem overwhelming, but Romans 8:37 reminds us that we are not just victors; we are ‘more than conquerors’ through Christ’s strength and love.” – Rick Warren

(Romans 8:38-39 NIV) For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

(Romans 8:37–39 NIV) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
