Scripture: Romans 4:9-12 (NIV)
Title: Justification… What’s the Big Deal?

Salvation is experienced in three parts:

  1. — Romans 4-5
  2. — Romans 6-7
  3. — Romans 8

Justification is the act of God whereby He forgives the unsaved person’s sin and imputes/credits/assigns to them the righteousness of Christ when through faith they believe.

At the moment of salvation, 3 things take place:

  • 1st You’re .
  • 2nd You’re Christ’s righteousness.
  • 3rd You’re given to believe.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

Justification… What’s the Big Deal?

01 Justification places the emphasis on in our salvation.
Mark 8:35 (NIV); Ephesians 2:8-10a (MSG); Ephesians 1:3-5, 8, 11-12 (MSG); Ephesians 1:8 (MSG); Romans 11:33-36 (MSG)

02 Justification prevents the exercise of righteousness.
Romans 4:6-11 (NIV); Genesis 17:9-11 (NIV); 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NIV)

03 Justification promotes the evangelism of .
Genesis 12:3 (NLT); Romans 10:13-15 (NIV); Romans 4:11b-12 (ESV)

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 (NIV)

THINK ON IT:

  1. Is your Christian faith about you or about God?
  2. Are you resting in His righteousness alone?
  3. Are you living on mission to share the gospel with all people?
