(Exodus 15:27 NIV) Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.

 

1. God leads us to places of .

 

(Exodus 15:27a NIV) “Then they came to Elim…”

(Psalm 23:1-3 NIV) The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.

(Matthew 11:28–29 NIV) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find restfor your souls.”

(Psalm 122:1 KJV) I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

(Psalm 16:11 ESV) You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

(Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT) Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

 

2. God leads us to places of refreshing to remind us of .

 

Elim: place of terebinths or other great trees

(Exodus 15:27 NIV) Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees

(Deuteronomy 1:32b-33 NLT) …the Lord your God, 33 who goes before you looking for the best places to camp, guiding you with a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day. 

(Psalm 73:16-17 NIV) When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply 17till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.

(1 Kings 19:15a) The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came…”
