Message Title: Believing Thomas

(Romans 8:11 NLT) The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raisedChrist Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

The resurrection of Jesus wasn’t just an event to celebrate, it is power to be experienced.

BELIEVE

(John 11:25-26 NIV) “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

(Mark 9:17-24 NIV) A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered. “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if youcan do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “Everything is possible for one who believes.” (Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!

3 Reasons Why We Doubt:

  • We don’t God does the right thing.
  • We’ve to believe, and it didn’t work.
  • We’ve to the doubts of others.

(John 20:24-25 NIV) Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see thenail marks in his hands and put  my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

(John 20:26 NIV) A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though thedoors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said “Peace be with you!”

Overcoming our Doubts:

1. Realize that Jesus will search for you.

  • Your won’t keep Jesus .

(John 20:27 NIV) Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your  hand and put itinto my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

  1. a step to discover who Jesus is.

  • Belief won’t to you; you have to to

(John 20:28 NIV) Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

  1. Give to the One who gave .

  • Belief isn’t faith in, it is faith on.
