Discussion Questions:

  1. Where do you feel most “ordinary”, inadequate, or overlooked right now? How does Mary’s story challenge your view of what God can do through you?
  2. What’s one area of your life where God is nudging you to say, “I surrender Lord”? What makes surrender so difficult?
  3. When life gets overwhelming, what tends to replace worship in your life? What is one practical way you can bring worship into your weekly routine outside of Sunday?
  4. What are you “soaking up” the most right now — Scripture, or something else? What’s one simple change you could make this week to saturate your heart more in God’s Word?
  5. Why do you think it matters that Mary acknowledged her need for a Savior?
  6. Mary treasured and meditated on what God was doing. What helps you slow down enough to treasure and meditate?
  7. What’s one blessing God has given you recently that you need to “treasure” more intentionally?
  8. What’s a next step God may be calling you to take after hearing Mary’s story?
