Discussion Questions:
- What’s one way you’ve seen God’s goodness in your life recently?
- Why do you think it’s sometimes easy to forget how good God has been to us?
Open Your Eyes to How Good God Has Been
- Joseph named his sons after God’s goodness and faithfulness. If you had to name a “season” of your life right now, what would you call it and why? How does recognizing God’s goodness change the way we view our resources?
Be a Wise Giver
- Joseph didn’t give recklessly; he gave responsibly. How can believers test or discern whether what they’re giving to is trustworthy and God-honoring? What helps you feel confident that your giving is making a difference?
Give with Grace
- Joseph blessed his brothers—even though they didn’t deserve it. Why do you think grace and generosity are so closely connected in Scripture?
Realize God Works Through You
- Can you think of a time when your giving or serving made someone say, “God must have done this”?
Give at Your Life’s Level
- The widow gave what she had; Joseph gave from abundance. What does “giving at your level” look like for you right now?
- Why is it important that every believer participates in generosity, not just the wealthy?
- How does tithing help unify the church in generosity and mission?
- Which of the five principles spoke to you most this week, and why?
- What is one step you can take this week to live more “well spent”?
