The Devoted Life in the 21st Century Church:
- To selflessly
- To sacrificially
Discussion Questions:
- Clayton mentioned the dangers of a lukewarm church. In what ways do you think our church could be at risk of becoming lukewarm? Read Revelation 3:14-17 for insight.
- Read Ephesians 2:4-5. How do mercy and grace intersect in your understanding of salvation? Can you share a personal experience where you felt God’s mercy or grace in your life?
- The sermon emphasized the importance of love for one another as a hallmark of being the church. What practical steps can our group take to demonstrate devoted love to each other in our daily lives? Use Acts 2:42 for insight.
- Why does the Bible use the practice of loving one another as the benchmark for identifying disciples of Jesus? Can you share examples from your life where you have experienced or witnessed selfless love in action within the church?
- Set a specific goal for how you will express love and support to someone in your life.
- Reflect on ways the church has shown growth in love and community over the last few months. We’re halfway through our 3 year Made4More Campaign to fund the construction that has just started. Will you commit to praying this week for God to call our church to be unified as we all sacrificially invest in the future of Central and for those who aren’t here yet?
