Discussion Questions

  1. Has there been a time in your life when you “dropped out of church” for a period of time? What circumstances led to this decision?
  2. Read 2 Timothy 1:5. Who in your life has invested in you the way Timothy’s mother and grandmother invested in his?
  3. Read Matthew 7:24-27. What intentional steps are you taking to build your home on a solid foundation?
  4. Read Proverbs 22:6. What does this verse mean to you?
  5. How are you just like your mom or dad (possibly against your best efforts!)?
  6. How have you seen your kid(s) take after you? Is this a good or bad thing?
  7. Read Deuteronomy 6:6-7. Noah stated in his sermon that foundational faith is both taught and caught. What are some ways you can teach your kids spiritual truths as you go throughout your day?
  8. Read Joshua 24:15. What things tend to distract you from serving the Lord? (sports, finances, job, social media, etc.)
  9. 2 Timothy 1:5 makes no mention of Timothy’s father, so we can infer that he was not a believer. Has that been your story? Share if you feel comfortable.
  10. What is one action step you can take to pass down your legacy of faith to your family?
