Questions to Ask Yourself:

  1. If you didn’t spend any time in the Bible for the next week, would you even miss it?
  2. How many Scriptures have you hidden in your heart? Just the basics still?
  3. Are your daily decisions impacted by time spent with God or do you daily decide to ignore him?

Discussion Questions:

  1. Between Prayer, Worship, and Spending time in God’s Word, which one do you struggle with the most? Why?
  2. Are there spiritual heroes in your life who were noticeably in the Word at a deeper level? What impact does this have on their life?
  3. What kind of Bible reading could you describe as a “Spiritual Happy Meal”?
  4. What kind of Bible reading could you describe as a “Spiritual Fine Dining”?
  5. According to Jeremiah 17:7-8, there are life-changing benefits to spending meaningful time with God in his Word. What are those benefits, and how have you personally seen them in your life or the life of others?
  6. What’s the difference between being a “Bible Trivia Pharisee” and being a “Grafted in Follower of Jesus”?
  7. How does the idea of grafting in a branch enhance your understanding of a strong devotional life?
  8. Clayton briefly described four ways to improve your time spent with God in his Word: get focused, get a plan, get into a conversation, get active. What can you do this week to make that happen?
