Discussion Questions:

  1. Discuss the difference between your soul and your spirit. Does this make sense? How can your soul be saved and washed clean, but your spirit be in need of a detox?
  2. A spiritual detox requires “training for godliness,” which is essentially become more like Jesus. Clayton shared that you have to “feed that dog” in your spirit that will produce good fruit. How can you accomplish this daily?
  3. How do we “feed the wrong dog” in our spirit that produces bad fruit? What examples have you seen in your own life when emotions got out of control or when relationships became toxic?
  4. The story of Martha and Mary (Luke 10) was used to describe starving a toxic spiritual act and feeding one that is more like Jesus. Discuss worry, jealousy, bitterness, and anger as well as their godly replacements.
  5. What practical steps can you take this week to begin that starving/feeding process?
