Discussion Questions:

  1. Paul called Epaphroditus a “co-worker” that brought synergy to the relationship. Do you know people who are “energy vampires” who suck the life out of relationships? Why is synergy important in your home, work, and church? How are you doing?
  2. Paul also called Epaphroditus a “fellow soldier” that was a strategic partner in gospel ministry. With the difficulties involved in ministry, why is being strategic (or intentional and consistent) such a valuable trait? How are you doing?
  3. Epaphroditus almost died from an illness, he risked his life for the mission, and through all of it was ultimately more concerned about others than himself. What results did his self-sacrifice produce? Why are we often averse to self-sacrifice?
  4. These character traits of Epaphroditus come from follow the example of Jesus found in Philippians 2:3-8. According to this passage, what personal changes do you need to make to follow in Jesus’ footsteps?
