From Wandering to Winning – 4 Decisions Our Church Must Make
January 15, 2023
Dr. Clayton Chisum
Last week: God called Abram to an incredible life, but he had to choose that over a comfortable life.
To go from wandering to winning, you must…
the Promise
Genesis 17:1-3 NLT
To Embrace the Promise:

With God, you can’t lose! He holds the result, the problems of your life.
Romans 4:20 NLT
Genesis 17:4-5 NLT

2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

Romans 4:20-25 NLT

Discussion Questions:
- God promised Abram two main things: Land and a Family Line that would impact the world. What is so important and significant about these two promises in the ancient world?
- If land and a family line were so important back then, what promises of God are important now?
- Does God give us these promises through Jesus? If so, how?
- Abram embraced the promise by “Living Like he Can’t Lose.” How can we live this way in light of who God is and his promises for us?
- When Abram’s name changed to Abraham, his identity changed from his past to his future. How does our new name in Christ change our identity in the same way?
- How can you personally or the church as a group of believers actively live out the promises of God this week? This year?
