Read 2 Kings 6:1-7

  1. Have you ever read this story before? Share any new insights you gained from this week’s message.
  1. The story of the axe falling into the water is a great reminder that everyone has problems that may seem small to an outsider but can be a big deal to you personally. What small problems or inconveniences in your life easily become a big deal to you?
  1. What kind of requests do you pray to God? Do you go to him for the big stuff, small stuff, or both? If you’re hesitant going to go over the small stuff, why? What has this story taught you about how much God cares for you?
  1. Elisha stepped in and helped when the young prophet-in-training was having an awful day. God wants to work through you to do the same thing today. How have you stepped up to meet a need in someone’s life? Have you had opportunities but decided not to act? Why?
  1. How can you be an Elisha to someone this week? Try to be specific and hold each other accountable by sharing next week you’ve seen God work through you.
