Pentecost represents something that we as a church should still long for today – a mighty moving of the Lord! We are guilty of wanting the power of Pentecost without the paying the price. We want the wages without the work. We want the blessing without the business. We want the product without the pain. In this passage, we will look at four things that are necessary to pay the cost of Pentecost and lead to the results we see unfolding in the next chapter.

- Judas is the main character in the NT that proves it is possible to be close to Jesus Christ and not actually have a with Him.
- Judas, in betraying the Lord Jesus and hanging himself, left an opening in the ranks of the .
- The Bible says that they roll the dice, they cast lots, trying to figure out which one should be the guy.
- This is key, this is the mention of casting the lots ever in the Bible. Why? Because once God gives you His , the Holy Spirit will help you in making decisions.
- What we have here then in this section are believers who are obedient, believers who are unified, praying, studying the Scriptures, thinking through the choices, and making a decision. All of this put them in for the power of Pentecost.
