It’s an open letter, prepared by Nebuchadnezzar and mailed throughout his entire kingdom, a copy of which is tucked inside the book of Daniel. It’s remarkable because in this letter, Nebuchadnezzar openly admits his pride, his temporary insanity, and his beastly behavior, and then gives glory to the God of Israel for his recovery. Pride sets in when we start to dwell on how great and awesome we are instead of how great and awesome is. God uses another to communicate an important message to the king. This time, he’s not a head of gold, he’s a . II. (19-26) saw clearly what lay ahead for the powerful king. The king took for these achievements and was in great because his heart was lifted up with pride. Pride takes us from the to the pasture! III. (27) The truth of the Word of God demands a . Preaching demands a verdict – that you don’t just hear something, you something! We must be willing to share the news with people we love that they are out of sorts with God, even if our breaks while telling them. We would be very wise to listen to the of God’s Word. IV. (28-33) A voice from heaven his words and told him the judgment was about to happen. God has every right to break into our lives and to us. God will only grant His so long and then comes His literal judgment. V. (34-37) Pride is . Sin makes us think and act like . Pride is . Of all the sins that can anger God and bring about His judgment, none are more dangerous than pride. God has the sovereign ability to the proud in body and mind, in and situations.
