Calvary Baptist Church Red Bank Someone is Walking With Me in the Flames Archived – September 17, 2023 View This Week’s Note View All Past Notes View This Note w/o Blanks Main Scripture Reference(s) Daniel 3:19-30 Someone is Walking With Me in the Flames September 17, 2023 / Greg Powell / Daniel 3:19-30 This story sort of takes the wind out of the sails of those that believe and teach that serving God always leads to health, wealth, and comfort. Bad things do happen to good people and bad things do happen to godly people. But what if your best life, in the mind of God, involves the of your life? What if He wants to lead you into a deeper understanding of why Jesus Christ never defined a good life in terms of how long it lasted or how much stuff it had? And what if God does change your life, but He changes things from bad to ? Turn to 1 Peter 4:12. A number of Bible scholars believe that when Peter wrote these words, he was thinking in his mind of an event that happened centuries earlier – a literal trial by – to three Hebrew men. The devil tempts us to our faith, but God tests us to our faith, because a faith that can’t be tested can’t be trusted. I. A New Sense of If one takes a stand for God, there may be immediate results. Fiery trials have a way of setting us . They were not saved the fiery furnace, but they were saved it, which was a much greater deliverance. Fire ! So, what if you have to lose everything in order to be free from your to entertainment, technology, yourself, etc.? Can you rejoice in the freedom of the fire?
