Calvary Baptist Church Red Bank Focus on Humility Archived – March 12, 2023 View This Week’s Note View All Past Notes View This Note w/o Blanks Main Scripture Reference(s) Philippians 2:1-4 Focus on Humility March 12, 2023 / Greg Powell / Philippians 2:1-4 We are building up towards the greatest example of humility which is found in Jesus Christ in the verses just after this. But some groundwork has to be laid. Remember this is a book about joy and the proper mindset that is needed. In chapter 1, the secret of joy in spite of circumstances was the single mind focused on the gospel. In chapter 2, the secret of joy in spite of people is the submissive mind focused on humility. I. The for Humility (1-2) The word “if” is better understood with the word “” or “because.” Parents do this all the time. We ask questions that have to be answered with a “” and then drive our point home. There is in Christ. If Jesus Christ has in any way your soul, and He most definitely has if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then you need to obey the command of God and strive for unity and humility.
