Calvary Baptist Church Red Bank The Cure for Heart Trouble Archived – July 3, 2022 View This Week’s Note View All Past Notes View This Note w/o Blanks Main Scripture Reference(s) John 14:1-6 The Cure for Heart Trouble July 3, 2022 / Greg Powell / John 14:1-6 These verses have been considered down through time to be some of the most comforting words of Scripture. Jesus specifically gives information designed to calm troubled hearts. That becomes quite obvious when you read John 14 because He repeats this twice – verse 1 and verse 27. Today, more than ever, the world is filled with troubled, confused, hurting, fearful hearts. God does not want His people troubled in their hearts. We need more than “Keep your chin up, buddy!” or “The sun will come out tomorrow!” We need more than a pat of the back and some pious advice. What is the answer? I. A Strong (1) Jesus understands our . He is about to go to the cross but He still cares for His friends. The only way this passage will ever heal your heart is if you will believe that Jesus Christ is completely . I know we like to think of these as comforting words but in reality, they are words. When our heart , it reveals who or what we are trusting. II. A Secure (2-4) In verse 1, Jesus says “trust me” and in verses 2-4 we find out He can be trusted. One of the things we know about is there is a specific place prepared specifically for every believer by Jesus Christ and it will be a wonderful place. Let’s clear up one glaring misconception – that heaven is filled with huge . Not only does Jesus go to prepare a place for the believer, but He will again to get the believer to take the believer to where He is. We need a fresh perspective on seeing in heaven. Let not your heart be any more, trust Jesus and you are heading home.
