Calvary Baptist Church Red Bank Lessons from Twelve Pairs of Dirty Feet (Part 2) Archived – May 29, 2022 View This Week’s Note View All Past Notes View This Note w/o Blanks Main Scripture Reference(s) John 13:6-11 Lessons from Twelve Pairs of Dirty Feet (Part 2) May 29, 2022 / Greg Powell / John 13:6-11 What we will see today in this second part of the passage is why Jesus washed their feet. There was a very obvious physical reason why their feet needed to be washed, but we also see there was a less obvious spiritual reason why their feet needed to be washed. I. A Lesson on (1-5) II. A Lesson on (6-11) The word translated “wash” in verses 5, 6, 8, 12, and 14 is the word nipto and it means to bathe or cleanse a of the body. The word in the first part of verse 10 is the Greek word louo and it means to cleanse the body. Every once in awhile we will get a little filth of the world on us and we need to get cleaned up so we can be effective again. We are washed clean from all condemning sin the moment we believe on Jesus Christ, but through confession, we stay clean when we get a little dirty every day as a child of God. You can’t sin and then confess . Daily cleansing will keep your fellowship and your communion sweet. The most thing every person needs is the all-over cleansing. Humility holiness.
