Do people who have never heard about Jesus go to hell?

(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)

Peter Kreeft, “Of all the doctrines of Christianity, hell is the most , the most and the first to be abandoned.”

WHAT AUTHORITY DO CHRIST-FOLLOWERS HAVE FOR OUR BELIEFS?

Christian authority is based on and .

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)

If you want to accurately know what God’s are and what He is thinking, the Scriptures.

The word, “”, prevents us from having a selective appetite concerning our acceptance or rejection of certain portions of Scripture.

THREE KEY TAKEAWAYS:

1) There are a number of strong, clear statements in Scripture that Jesus is the only way to salvation.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Merrill Tenney: “He declared to be the final key to all mysteries… Truth is found in a not a philosophy or a set of .”

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

A sense of finality/exclusiveness is seen in the word “no”. A sense of is seen in the word “must”.

Scripture further teaches that this salvation which Christ offers to believers in Him was achieved through His .

If there is to God and eternal life than through a belief in Jesus and His work on the cross, the is really hard to explain.

2) We rest strongly on what we know about the character of God.

We rest on what we know about the , the , and the of God.

Peter Davids: “The missionary imperative or command to witness falls to those who believe.

How God may choose to reveal Himself or deal with those who have no human messenger is His business. If we know God’s , we can Him to do His business well.”

A central principle of Christianity: God will reveal the Gospel to the .

“God rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

We can trust the love and justice of God.

3) The missionary imperative falls to all Christ followers

This is the the and the for all of us, not just formal missionaries, to share the Good News about Jesus.

Power to Change’s definition of success for the Christ follower: “doing the best you can in the and leaving the up to God.”

WHAT TO REMEMBER:

1) There are strong, clear statements in Scripture teaching that is the only way to salvation.

2) Peter Davids’ words, “If we know God’s , we can Him to do His business well.”

3) In Scripture there is a imperative/mandate for all Christ followers to share the Good News about Jesus.
