“‘I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.
This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world…
Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life,
and I will raise them up at the last day.'” (John 6:51, 53)

“Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.” (John 6:26)

they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:8)

We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.'” (John 6:67-69)

  1. How do you think you would have responded to Jesus if you were in the crowd the day he first spoke these words?

  2. What is your opinion of the reasons given for Jesus not clearly declaring who he was and what he would do?

  3. Can you talk about a time in your past when you were unable to see God’s activity at the moment, but can now see what he was doing all along?
