1 Corinthians 12

1. DEFINITION OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS – V. 4-11

a. Spiritual gifts ARE by nature and are NOT by nature .  And the giver is .  

“Spiritual gifts” – “pneumatika” and “charismata”.

2. WHY DO THESE GIFTS EXIST? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS? – V. 7

a. The common function of each gift is the of those experiencing it.

3. IS THERE A LIST OF THESE GIFTS? – V. 8-10

1. The gift of the message of

a. Exercising superior judgment at just the right time. (Acts 17:22-32)

2. The gift of the message of

a. The supernatural awareness of facts without the aid of the natural senses. (Acts 5:1-6)

3. The gift of

a. A God-given confidence that produces extraordinary results. (Acts 27:25 or 14:8-10)

4. The gift of

a. Helping bring restoration to health, through prayer, to those who have a sickness. (Acts 9:34)

5. The gift of

a. The immediate, supernatural intervention by God into the normal course of the operation of the world as we know it. (Acts 20:9-12)

6. The gift of

a. Declaring God’s thoughts at any given moment… (Acts 11:27-30)

7. The gift of the ability to distinguish between

a. Recognizing identities in the spiritual realm. (Acts 16:16-18)

8. The gift of the ability to speak in different kinds of

a. Speaking words in an unlearned language. (1 Corinthians 14:2 and 23)

9. The gift of the ability to interpret

a. Knowing directly and intuitively that which has been communicated in a gathering through the gift of tongues. (1 Corinthians 14:27-28)

4. ARE SOME GIFTS MORE IMPORTANT THAN OTHERS? V. 21-27

a. We must not get caught up in the trap of equating with

5. WHAT ARE THE WAYS GOD USES PEOPLE AND THEIR GIFTS? – V. 28-31

a. : one who functions as a leader of leaders and a “builder” of churches.

b. : one who is known for consistently exercising the prophetic gift.

c. : one who is known for consistently exercising the teaching gift.

d. Workers of : one known for seeing immediate, supernatural results as a direct answer to prayer.

e. Those having gifts of : those known for seeing ailments healed as a direct answer to prayer.

f. Those able to help : those known for a unique sensitivity to, and ability to assist, those in distress.

g. Those with gifts of : One known for unique leadership qualities.

h. Those speaking in different kinds of : one supernaturally enabled to speak in a language they have never learned, unaware of what they are saying.
