Society, Peacemaking, and Sanctity

Many Christians struggle with their role when it comes to politics and political candidates.

Some merge politics and Christianity in an unhealthy way.

It is not wrong for a Christian to be involved in politics or support a political candidate.

Obeying the government is not the same as obeying God.

The State (authority of the state) is instituted by God.

It is wrong to give the State the devotion that is owed to God.

Two Kingdoms: Redemptive Kingdom and the Common Kingdom

The Church is the beachhead for the coming kingdom

The primary rule of the church is to preach the word of God, administer the sacraments, and lead believers in the worship of God.

The Redemptive Kingdom is not the Common Kingdom but does have implications for our lives within the Common Kingdom.

If one swears by something, it ought to be true

We should refrain from flippant oaths or vows that exist to give credibility to what we are saying.

Reconciliation between people is understood in light of our reconciliation to God through Jesus’s work on the cross.

Christians value Human life because we believe that each person (born or unborn) is created in the image of God.
