Three Characteristics of Progressive Christianity (Michael Kruger):
First: A view of Jesus Christ
Second: Focused on and not salvation
Third: Downplays human

Characteristic Number 1: Following the path and teachings of Jesus can lead to an awareness and experience of the (Capital S) and the oneness and unity of all life.
Characteristic Number 2: Following the teachings of Jesus is but one to experience the sacredness and oneness of life.
Characteristic Number 3: There is more value in than in absolutes.
For the progressive Christian, there is value in the questioning itself — and the questioning of one’s faith isn’t to find the but it is to overturn what one has traditionally believed.
The Questions
One: Where is Your Father? (Verse 19)
This was meant to t Jesus by pointing to the events surrounding his birth
Two: Will he kill himself since he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come?’ (Verse 22)
The religious elite believe that they were destined for so Jesus must be going to hell
Three: Who are you? (Verse 25)
Basically, this was suggesting that Jesus was a
Jesus’ Response
A. Religious elite: Where is your Father?
Notice three things about Jesus’ Answer:
One: Jesus says that these do not the Father
Two: To truly know the Father, one must Jesus as the Christ (Messiah)
Three: God them since they have continually rejected God (Romans 1 — God gave them over)
B. Religious Elite: Will he kill himself?
First: The grace of Jesus’ invitation will not forever
Second: The consequence of rejecting Christ is from God for eternity
C. Religious Elite: Who are you?
One must seriously and sincerely ask this question in to meet God
