Pead for Me Exodus 8:20-32

Moses goes to Pharaoh when he is in the

God is redeeming his people for

Isreal was not the people at this time

What God is doing in the redemption of Israel is a of all of His redeemed

Those who will place their faith in Trust in God’s provision of a Savior.

“When it pleases God by his judgments to humble men, he is never at a loss for means: he can used lions or lice, famines or flies. In the armory of God there are weapons of every kind, from the starts in their courses down to caterpillars in their hosts.”  Charles Spurgeon

The LORD “” the land of Goshen — that phrase can also be translated as

God had a purpose in these plagues in the life of as well as Egypt

 — God is teaching Israel that He for them

 — God is teaching them He is

 — One does not need to be in order to worship

What kind of Flies?

Not limited to “house flys”

Very possible that this could have been a fly or insect

The Septuagint suggests that these were “Dog Flies”

Could have been a fly that deposits its eggs on other living things

Could have been a flying Beatle known as Scarabs often found on mummies and on charms and amulets

Could have been a fly directed toward Beelzebub or the “lord of the flies” who was the protector of the land and natural disasters (like a swarm of flies).

Did the Hebrews Deserve to be Saved from this Plague?

The answer is: No — we see them later blaming God and Moses — these grumble as a display of their lack of faith. These deserve but God set’s them apart as His own.

Redemption: Freed from the bondage of sin

Side A – “Christians” who embrace the LGBTQ identity and lifestyle

Side B – “Christians” who embrace the LGBTQ identity but do not act on their passions

Side B leads to Side A over and over again

As Christians — our identity is in Christ and not in our past sins (1 Corinthians 6:11)

Compromise?

What about compromise for the sake of

John 17

  — Jesus desires His disciples to be unified

  — Jesus desires his disciples to be sanctified in the Truth (His word is truth)
