Matthew 7:1

“we purpose to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember one another in prayer, to help one another in sickness and distress, to cultivate Christian compassion and courtesy, and admonish and entreat one another as an occasion may require.” ~ Church Membership Covenant

One does not see the rightly in their brother’s eye until they recognize the in their own eye

Question 1: Is not this the man whom they seek to kill?

Question 2: Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ?

The people hearing Jesus are him: Is he the Messiah or not?

The reasoning of the crowd: This cannot be the Christ because where he comes from

Rabbinic tradition: The Messiah would be until he came on the scene to redeem Israel

e. The Bible contains errors that we would expect from those in the iron age, not the God of the universe.

f. Christian theology is absurd

g. Christianity has changed over time

h. All arguments for God are flawed

c. We that the Lord would be gracious to them and remove the spiritual blinders that are keeping them from seeing the truth.

As Jesus preaches there are those who seek to him and those who him to be the Christ.

The Spirit of God uses the of God as he redeems sinful humanity

1 Peter 1:23

The last question comes after these have new — they come to see Jesus as the Christ (it all starts to make sense)
