About months have passed since Jesus fed the multitudes in Chapter 6

In chapter 5, the Jewish leaders wanted Jesus dead because he claimed to be with God

In chapter 6, the followers of Jesus couldn’t Jesus’ teaching

These followers of Jesus hated the — that Jesus was equal with God

Worldliness 

John 15:9-21

John 7:7

The world Jesus because He exposes the world’s works

Don Carson on the world:

God’s design for marriage: man and woman for life

People would make or tabernacles to live in for the week

The feast was days long with a celebration on the  

Jesus starts teaching in the in the middle of the festival 

John 7:37

Water was offered to God to call to His provision in the and it pointed to the provision of the messianic age to come

Jesus (in verse 37) was pointing to the fact that he was a of this Jewish feast

Everything happens in God’s

For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
