Kingdom Culture: Persistence

May 28, 2023

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
12 “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Being persistent in…

1.  – to request, petition, demand.

2.  – search for, desire, require, demand.

3.  – to strike, beat a door with a stick, to gain admittance.

  • For everyone who asks (to get, lay hold of)
  • And one who seeks (to learn, discover)
  • And to the one who knocks it (to open, to break open)

How much more will your who is in heaven give to those who ask Him! (Luke 11:13)

Why am I not getting what I’m asking/seeking/knocking for?

  • Not “the golden rule” – So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
  • Kingdom culture persistence is !!! (Luke 11:5-8)
    • This is how works
    • The giving of “good things” and the Holy Spirit is through “the laying on of hands”  (2 Tim 1:6-7; 1 Tim 5:22)
