Study Questions Revelation 15-16:

1.What did you learn that was new tonight? What excited you the most?

2. The saints in heaven worshiped God for a victory they did not yet fully have. They sang praises to God as he prepared to destroy the enemy.

–What are some songs we sing that look forward to future victory?

–Have you ever praised God for a victory that was still in the future? (It’s praise by faith!)

3. How does judgment on the wicked reveal God’s glory? (Revelation 15:3)

4. There is a great emphasis on God’s judgments being “just.”

–Is it important that God be just?

–How does God’s justice get mixed with God’s mercy?

–Can God be both merciful and just?

(God delivered justice to Jesus on the cross. The justice I deserved. Those who reject Jesus and oppose him, do not receive his mercy but the justice that they deserve. This justice could have been adverted if they had repented.)

5. In Revelation 15:3-4 there were 7 declarations of praise. Which of these speak to you most deeply in a situation you are dealing with right now?

1. His deeds are amazing.

2. His ways are just and true.

3. He is king of the ages.

4. He should be feared.

5. His name is worthy of worship.

6. He is Holy.

7. His actions are righteous.

How do Believers live in the light?

What are some basic truths the world rejects?

9. In Revelation it might at first appear that the armies of the earth gather on their own against Jerusalem. But Revelation makes it clear that God is gathering them. Do you think God is at all behind the moving of the armies of the earth today, or is that just something for the future? How sovereign is God over the nations?

10. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11.

–Go through each verse. Are these things happening today?

–How are people “asleep”?

–What does Paul mean, “We belong to the day” (v.8)

–v.9 has often been used to suggest Christians will be taken away before any judgments are poured out on the earth. What are some other conclusions we might draw from that verse?

–v.10, paul used another term for sleep, which is to be dead. Yet the dead “live” with him.

–v.11, how do these words encourage us?

11. Read Exodus 9:22-26.

–How does this compare to the end times hail? (Namely, that there is no way to escape the coming judgment for the wicked.)

–God’s coming is sometimes seen as a storm. What are some ways that the Coming of Christ is a positive thing for believers? How is the very same event terrifying to unbelievers?

–We usually think of fire at the coming of Christ. In this passage Hail is used as part of his coming. Have you ever thought of hail being part of the coming of Christ?
