Battle for the Heart: Jealousy

Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Anger says: You Owe Me // Antidote is: Forgiveness

Guilt says: I Owe You // Antidote is: Confession

Greed Says: I Owe Me // Antidote is: Generosity

James 4:1-3 (NIV)
“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? ² You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. ³ When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

What Jealousy Can Do:

Every good thing can be traced back to God.

magnifies what God has already given to me.

God can use what I would not have chosen for a purpose I could not have imagined.
