extreme happiness, or blessing, or bliss

God’s Way to Happiness isn’t about circumstances
It’s about your attitude toward circumstances

extremely happy, or people who live in desperate dependence on God

Blessed: [MARKARIOS]
Extreme happiness, blessing, or BLISS

God’s way to happiness isn’t about circumstances,
it’s about our attitude toward circumstances.

Matthew 5:3 NIV
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Extremely happy are those people who live in desperate dependence on God.

Matthew 5:4 NIV
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Hebrews 11:35-40 NIV
35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. 39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

2 Timothy 4:18 NIV
18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Matthew 5:4 NIV
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

James 1:2-3 NIV
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

God is more interested in your character
than He is in your comfort.

James 1:4 NIV
4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 NIV
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:8 NIV
8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself.

2 Corinthians 1:9 NIV
9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.

2 Corinthians 1:10 NIV
10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us,

2 Corinthians 1:11 NIV
11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
