When You Feel Out Of Place

April 2, 2023

We are in a place, where we feel out of place.

Luke 7:1-2 NIV
1 When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum. 2 There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die.

Luke 7:3 NIV
3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant.

Luke 7:4-5 NIV
4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this, 5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.”

Luke 7:6-7 NIV
6 So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. 7 That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.

Luke 7:8 NIV
8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Luke 7:9-10 NIV
9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.

The only thing that amazes Jesus is faith
or your lack of faith

Jesus might be surprised when you believe in Him.
You might be surprised when Jesus believes in you.

You can surprise Jesus when you believe in Him.
You may be surprised to know Jesus believes in you.

Acts 10:13-14 NIV
13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.” 14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”

Acts 10:15 NIV
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

Keeping People
VS
Reaching People

Romans 2:4 NIV
4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

John 17:20 NIV
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one…so that they may be brought to complete unity.
John 17:23 NIV

Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Acts 10:19-20 NIV
19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are looking for you. 20 So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”Acts 10:27-28 NIV
27 While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. 28 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.

Galatians 3:26-28 NIV
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Acts 10:34-35 NIV
34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.

Revelation 7:9 NIV
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
