May 22, 2022

Dream ———— Destiny

How do we travel form the dream to the destiny?

The way you hold the dreams God gives you determines if and when they come to pass.

God is faithful to the promised outcome, not the easy journey.

Genesis 39:6
So he left in Joseph’s care everything he had;

Genesis 39:6
So he left in Joseph’s care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.

Temptation is almost always strategically timed.

1 Peter 5:8-11 (MSG)
Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up.

After a loss or pain
Right after a big win

Genesis 39:6
Now Joseph was well-built and handsome,

Genesis 39:6-7
Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!”

Satan knows exactly what kind of bate will entice you.

Will we ever get to a place where temptations stop being so tempting?

“You cannot keep birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair.”
~Martin Luther

To fulfill the destiny of our dreams,
How do we overcome temptation?

To overcome temptation:
Realize and Run.

Realize what you can Lose.

Genesis 39:8

But he refused. “With me in charge,’ he told her, ‘my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care.”

Genesis 39:8

No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife.

Genesis 39:9

How could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?
A momentary pleasure can destroy your destiny.

Genesis 39:10

And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.
Genesis 39:11

One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside.
Genesis 39:12

She caught him by his cloak and said, ‘Come to bed with me!”

Genesis 39:12

“But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.”
Run away from the situation, person, or thing.

1 Corinthians 6:18

Joseph was willing to lose his coat to keep his character. To keep your character, what do you know needs to go?

“Most people want to be delivered from temptation but would like it to keep in touch.”
~Robert Orben

Who can you run to in your life for accountability?
