CHRISTMAS @ THE MOVIE Part 1: How To Overcome Distractions

December 5, 2021

Matthew 13:34
Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.

Acts 17:28
“for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’”

1 Corinthians 15:33
“Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.’”

Titus 1:12
One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Luke 2:41-45
Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.

Luke 14:12

“Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives…”

Jeremiah 17:9

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”

Our hopes are based upon reaction and distraction.

Luke 2:7
…and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

Micah 5:2
“But you, Bethlehem… though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel.”

The enemy will use good things to distract us from right things.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Luke 2:14 (NLT)
“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
