Who Am I?
With a Divine Purpose – Ecclesiastes 3:11
Sunday, September 13, 2026
Elder Geoff Desiato
Introduction
Who am I? It’s one of life’s biggest questions—and the answer begins with God. You were created intentionally, designed with divine purpose, and made in the image of your Creator. Though sin has broken and distorted God’s perfect creation, it has not erased your worth or changed His purpose for your life. Humanity is uniquely set apart from the rest of creation, possessing an eternal soul and carrying immeasurable value. In this series, we’ll discover what Scripture teaches about our identity, why every human life matters, and how understanding who God created us to be changes the way we see ourselves—and everyone around us.

With a Divine Purpose
Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end. 6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
Romans 12:6-8 (NKJV)
Notes:
4. God made you to do specific .
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 (NKJV)
