In Her Steps
Waiting Mothers – 1 Samuel 1:15
Sunday, May 17, 2026
Pastor Mike Bailey
Introduction
Let’s walk In Her Steps and explore the paths walked by faithful women who knew joy, pain, waiting, fear, and hope. Lois and Eunice model generational legacy and an enduring faith, while Hannah’s story encourages waiting mothers. We’ll learn from Naomi, who shows us how God meets us in grief, and Mary, who reminds every scared or uncertain parent that God is near, even in the unknown. Through their stories, and others, we’ll discover a faith that guides our steps, shapes our families, and points us toward the God who sees every season of motherhood and every heart that longs to nurture, lead, or love.

Brooke Buckmaster
“The idea of awaiting motherhood for me started with a persistent prayer as a little girl. Growing up without my own mother, I longed to be one. Through trials and loss, God met me in my tears and answered prayers that were heavier than I could hold alone. Every hardship was an opportunity to invite God into the midst of heartache and allow him to reshape my heart. It’s a blessing to be comforted by our loving father and to continue to have faith in the goodness of God.”
3. Our to God is a significant moment in our lives.
2b Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. 3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. James 4:2b-3
“You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” Matthew 21:22
If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. Psalm 66:18
