When Jesus Encouraged His Disciple

Purpose: to help a Christian which may be struggling with discouragement to continue to do what God has assigned them to do.

  1. Jesus the fear- Acts 18:9
    1. He was aware of the of fear
      1. He knows we have it even when nobody else does- Luke 5:22, 1 Peter 5:7
      2. He understands the temptation of it- Hebrews 4:15
    2. He acknowledged the fear brings- Prov. 29:25
      1. It stops forward movement- Matt. 14:29-30
      2. It silences our message
  2. Jesus the fear- Acts 18:10
    1. He Paul of His own presence
      1. Only a promise which a believer has- John 14:8-9
      2. A promise which is always in effect- Hebrews 13:5
    2. He promised his own
      1. His ability to protect against all odds- Psalm 91 (the warriors Psalm)
      2. His authority to allow or not allow harm- Job 1, Psalm 56:11
  3. Jesus success- Acts 18:10
    1. On the that he remain obedient
      1. Be being faithful and not fearful
      2. By staying the course
    2. Out of for those that he called his own
      1. More allies than you think- Acts 18:12-17
      2. More souls that He wanted to save- Acts 18:11,18
