(Psalm 90:12) Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

What will you leave when you leave?

(1 Chronicles 28:9 NLT) “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”

(Psalm 112:6) Those who are righteous will be remembered forever.

(Hebrews 6:10) God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

What we do for ourselves

What we do for others

lives beyond us.

(2 Timothy 2:2 CEB) Take the things you heard me say in front of many other witnesses and pass them on tofaithful people who are also capable of teaching others.

(1 Kings 2:1-3 NLT) As the time of King David’s death approached, he gave this charge to his son Solomon: “I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man. Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.

(2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT) So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

(1 Chronicles 28:1-6 NASB) Now David assembled at Jerusalem all the officials of Israel, the leaders of the tribes, and the commanders of the divisions that served the king, the commanders of thousands, and the commanders of hundreds, and the overseers of all the property and livestock belonging to the king and his sons, with the officials and the mighty men, all the valiant warriors. Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Listen to me, my brothers and my people; I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it. But God said to me, ‘You shall notbuild a house for My name, because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’…He said to me, ‘Your sonSolomon is the one who shall build My house.’

(1 Chronicles 29:1-3) Then King David turned to the entire assembly and said, “My son Solomon, whom God has clearly chosen as the next king of Israel, is still young and inexperienced. The work ahead of him is enormous, for the Temple he will build is not for mere mortals—it is for the Lord God himself!…And now, because of my devotion to the Temple of my God, I am giving all of my own private treasures of gold and silver to help in the construction.

(2 Timothy 4:1-2 Ph) I urge you, Timothy, as we live in the sight of God and of Christ Jesus (whose coming in power will judge the living and the dead), to preach the Word of God. Never lose your sense of urgency, in season or out of season.
