UNSTOPPABLE

Part 3: Unstoppable Life

September 24, 2023

(Colossians 1:11-12 MSG) We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul – not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.

(Galatians 6:9 NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Don’t Give Up

1. Don’t be .

(1 Peter 4:12 CEB) Dear friends, don’t be surprised about the fiery trials that have come among you to test you. These are not strange happenings.

(John 16:33 MSG) In this world you will experience difficulties! But take heart! I have conquered the world! I’ve told you this so that in trusting me, you will be unshakeable and deeply at peace.

2. Look for ways .

(Romans 8:28 ESV) And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

  • God uses problems .

(Jeremiah 17:10 NIV) I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.

(Deuteronomy 8:2 NIV) God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you’d keep his commands.

The desert isn’t punishment.

It’s preparation for the promise.

  • God uses problems .

(Hebrews 12:8-11 CEV) God corrects all of his children, and if he doesn’t correct you, then you don’t really belong to him…God corrects us for our own good, because he wants us to be holy, as he is. It is never fun to be corrected. In fact, at the time it is always painful. But if we learn to obey by being corrected, we will do right and live at peace.

(Hebrews 12:26-27 LB) When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he says, ‘I will not only shake the earth but the heavens too.’ By this he means that he will sift out everything without a solid foundation so that only the unshakable things will be left.

  • God uses problems .

(Proverbs 16:9 GW) A person may plan his own journey, but the Lord directs his steps.

(Proverbs 20:30 TEV) Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways.

  • God uses problems .

(Job 36:16 NIV) God has led you away from danger, giving you freedom.

(Genesis 50:20) You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.

  • God uses problems .

(1 Peter 5:10 NIV) And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

(Romans 5:3-4 LB) We can rejoice when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us, they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it.

3. Trust God for .

(Proverbs 20:24 LB) Since the Lord is directing our steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?

(Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV) Trust the Lord with all your heart. Don’t depend on your own understanding. Honor the Lord in everything you do and he will give you success.
