HONOR Part 2: Vessels of Honor

(Romans 12:10 NIV) …Honor one another above yourselves.

Who Do We Honor?

1. Honor .

(1 Peter 2:17 ESV) Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

(Romans 12:10 NKJV) Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.

(Romans 13:1-2 NIV) Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

(Hebrews 13:17 NKJV) Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

(Leviticus 19:32 NIV) Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.

(Job 12:12 NIV) Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?

(1 Samuel 2:30 NLT) Therefore, the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I promised that your branch of the tribe of Levi would always be my priests. But I will honor those who honor me, and I will despise those who think lightly of me.

Vessels of Honor

(2 Timothy 2:20-21 NKJV) But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
