Philippians 3:13-14 (CEV)

13 My friends, I don’t feel I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. 14 I run toward the goal, so I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.

Philippians 3:13-14 (Easy-to-Read Version)

13 Brothers and sisters, I know that I still have a long way to go. But there is one thing I do: I forget what is in the past and try as hard as I can to reach the goal before me. 14 I keep running hard toward the finish line to get the prize that is mine because God has called me through Christ Jesus to life up there in heaven.

Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)

13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

PURPOSE – the reason for which something exists

Purpose is the “WHY” behind the “WHAT”

Purpose is not to be measured by what people know you for but rather by what God MADE you for.

Purpose must be revealed to be fulfilled

How Do I Find My Purpose?

  • Simplify what purpose IS

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

I am Here To Honor God and Find Fulfillment in That

Psalm 51:12-13 (NLT)

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.
13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels,
and they will return to you.

  • Establish what purpose is NOT

Galatians 5:16 (NKJV)

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Purpose is not doing my own thing

  • Develop a consistent pattern of communication between you and God

This provides the time, place, and posture to check in with him concerning your journey and how your pursuit of purpose is being fulfilled.

Shift the responsibility appropriately between you and God – Do what only you can do and allow him to do what only he can do

  • Find things to do that leave no other choice but for the glory of God to be revealed through it

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Be open to the idea that anything can play a part in purpose being fulfilled

  • Be You

The “you” that honors God

  • Stretch Yourself

Remove all limits that you have placed on yourself

Step out of your comfort zone

  • Be filled with the Holy Spirit

Acts 4:31 (NLT)

31 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

John 14:17 (NKJV)

17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

John 16:13 (NKJV)

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

The Holy Spirit at work through you is as “Finding Purpose” as “Finding Purpose Gets”

He Is the “IT” Factor

The Spirit of God takes his SUPER and places it on our NATURAL and makes it SUPERNATURAL.
