Isaiah 10:24-27 (NIV)

²⁴ Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:

“My people who live in Zion,
    do not be afraid of the Assyrians,
who beat you with a rod
    and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.
²⁵ Very soon my anger against you will end
    and my wrath will be directed to their destruction.”

²⁶ The Lord Almighty will lash them with a whip,
    as when he struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb;
and he will raise his staff over the waters,
    as he did in Egypt.
²⁷ In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders,
    their yoke from your neck;
the yoke will be broken
    because you have grown so fat.

²⁷ And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

 

• The very thing that has been beating you down, God is about to overturn it.

 

• The situation that has been suffocating you, today, the Lord is serving an eviction notice to it.

 

• Whatever it is that causes you to walk with your head hung down, the Lord is performing a mass extermination in your life, today.

 

IT ENDS TODAY.

 

ANOINTING:

 

• The divine ability to do what can’t be done in and of one’s own self.

 

• The enabling power of God to get things done

 

• THE ESSENCE OF SOMETHING BEING POURED ON YOU/SMEARED ON YOU…

 

• In biblical times, there was what is called an anointing ceremony, where a prophet of God would pour oil over the head of an individual or smear oil on certain items.

 

• This represented the Holy Spirit coming upon someone or something for a specific purpose

 

1 Samuel 16:13

13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.

 

THE OIL:

 

• Deodorizes-Fragrance/Perfume; The anointing is a magnet/ it is a Tool that DRAWS

 

• Lubricates- engine oil reduces friction and wear on engine parts. This friction can cause damage and reduce the performance of your car

 

• Flavors- oil adds flavor to food

 

• Heat Distributor- it helps to distribute heat evenly, which can reduce burning

 

• Rejuvenates- Where things are dry and dying there is a vibrancy (anti-aging creams/ lotions and oils used to restore moisture to the skin)

 

• Medicates/Heals- where there are cracks and tears in the skin (ointments like Neosporin are an antibiotic that encourage healing)

 

• Protects

 

INFIGHTING

 

• During breeding season for sheep the rams of the flocks will fight one another for the attention of the ewes. They will literally butt heads full force, which can cause critical injury or death.

 

• The shepherds would heavily grease the rams’ horns and heads in hopes they slip on impact

 

NOSE FLIES

 

• Flies bother sheep in the summer, especially nose flies which buzz around a sheep’s head trying to lay eggs in the sheep’s nose. The hovering flies can cause sheep to panic and run wildly.

 

• If the fly is successful, in a few days, larvae will hatch and burrow into the soft flesh of the sheep’s nasal passages. This causes irritation, inflammation and infection.

 

• The pain will cause the sheep to rub its head on the ground, even bang its head on tree trunks attempting to get rid of the intruders.

 

• In severe cases, a sheep may kill itself trying to get away from the pain.

 

YOKE:

 

A yoke is a curved bar made from wood or metal that HARNESSES, STRAPS, TRAPS two or more animals TOGETHER as they work, so they can cover more ground as they are positioned PARALLEL to one another.

 

WHEN YOU ARE YOKED w/ SOMETHING:

 

• Loss of mobility

 

• Vision is limited

 

• Loss of individuality

 

• Powerless/Controlled/Monitored/Used/Enslaved

 

• Working to benefit someone else

 

Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

You need The Anointing – It is for TODAY

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

 

Acts 10:38 (NIV)

38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

 

SIMPLE STEPS TO MOVE IN POWER

 

ASK FOR THE ANOINTING

 

Matthew 7:11

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

 

PRAYER:

 

HOLY SPIRIT POUR THE OIL ON ME.

ANOINT ME. SMEAR THE FRAGRANCE OF WHO YOU ARE UPON MY LIFE…LEAVE A STAIN THAT CAN’T BE REMOVED! LET IT GET DOWN ON THE INSIDE OF ME; BEYOND THE SURFACE LEVEL. CAUSE IT TO EMPOWER ME TO WALK IN THE PLACE OF FREEDOM THAT HAVE BROUGHT ME TO, TODAY.

LET IT THEN FLOW OUT OF ME, CAUSING IT TO LEAVE TRACES OF YOUR PRESENCE WHEN I LEAVE A ROOM, THAT OTHERS MAY BE MADE BETTER. MAKE THEM AWARE OF YOUR HOLY VISITATION THAT COMES TO LEAVE A MARK UPON THEIR LIVES, THROUGH ME.

 

RECEIVE THE ANOINTING

 

1 Samuel 16:13

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward.

 

• Posture yourself to receive the Power

 

• Anticipate THE POUR!

 

• Open every area of your life up – leaving no place untouched

 

USE THE ANOINTING

 

2 Timothy 1:6

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

 

• See where there is a need and step boldly into that space with total confidence in the Power of the Holy Ghost.

 

• Utilize the tool(s) given to you, fully confident that what you DO is anointed because you ARE anointed.

 

• DO IT UNTIL YOU FEEL IT BREAK, UNTIL YOU HEAR IT POP

 

David and Saul

1 Samuel 16:14-15, 23

14 Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a harmful spirit from the Lord tormented him. 15 And Saul’s servants said to him, “Behold now, a harmful spirit from God is tormenting you.

23 And whenever the harmful spirit from God was upon Saul, David took the lyre and played it with his hand. So Saul was refreshed and was well, and the harmful spirit departed from him.

 

David and Goliath

1 Samuel 17:40, 48-51

40 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.

48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

51 David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword.

 

He was anointed in the 13^th verse of the 16^th chapter, so God empowered him to do WHATEVER needed to be done from that point on.

 

• It wasn’t the Harp, but it was the hand that played it

 

• It wasn’t the Sling or the Stone, but the hand that slung it

• ^{All that you have been through, whether you know it or not… has built a resume between you and God.}

 

• ^{You are not WHERE you used to be, nor are you WHO you used to be.}

 

• ^{When you ask and then allow God to anoint you, it causes you to have so much swelling in the spirit that what once had you GRIPPED by the neck – is destroyed by what God put down on the inside of you.}

 

• ^{The anointing DESTROYS the YOKE}

 

• ^{So, if you want to experience freedom from what has oppressed you, GET BUFFED In the Spirit and let the Anointing of the HOLY GHOST have its way in you, knowing that it will annihilate whatever is on you.}
