[1] What the bible teaches us about Satan

• He was once guardian cherub

Ezekiel 28:11-15 NIV

¹¹ The word of the Lord came to me: ¹² “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “‘You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. ¹³ You were in Eden, the garden of God… ¹⁴ You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you… ¹⁵ You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.

• Pride filled his heart

• He deceives by presenting himself and his ways as if both are good for us

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 NIV

Even Satan himself pretends to be an angel of light. ¹⁵ So it doesn’t surprise us that Satan’s servants also pretend to be serving God. They will finally get exactly what they deserve.

• He is not all knowing or all powerful

• He is not God and is not as powerful as God

• Satan is not (as the Mormons teach) the brother of Jesus

• Remember we are in this battle alone
