 And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God].

³² “Now therefore, O sons, listen to me, For blessed [happy, prosperous, to be admired] are they who keep my ways.
³³ “Heed (pay attention to) instruction and be wise, And do not ignore or neglect it.
³⁴ “Blessed [happy, prosperous, to be admired] is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts.

[2] God expects us to develop and work a

Proverbs 16:3 

Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].

Proverbs 16:9 

A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.

• Its our job to set our sights on a direction and go

• Its God’s job to steer us along the way

He who gathers during summer and takes advantage of his opportunities is a son who acts wisely, 
But he who sleeps during harvest and ignores the moment of opportunity is a son who acts shamefully.

Proverbs 10:14 

Wise men store up and treasure knowledge [in mind and heart], 
But with the mouth of the foolish, ruin is at hand.

Proverbs 12:1

Whoever loves instruction and discipline loves knowledge,
 But he who hates reproof and correction is stupid.

When pride comes [boiling up with an arrogant attitude of self-importance], then come dishonor and shame,
 But with the humble [the teachable who have been chiseled by trial and who have learned to walk humbly with God] there is wisdom and soundness of mind.

 But the cruel and callous man does himself harm.
