Mother’s Day | The Power of Bad | Arlene Pellicane

May 14, 2023

It takes good comments to balance out bad one.

I am a recipient of God’s grace (2 Corinthians 12:9)

God will give me wisdom (James 1:5)

I am God’s masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10)

God keeps my mind in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3)

The plans of the Lord stand firm forever (Psalm 33:11)

Isaiah 33:22 (NKJV)

“For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us.”

When Bad is

Psalm 119:130 (NKJV)

“The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”

Isaiah 47:10 (NIV)

You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, ‘No one sees me.’

Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.’

Isaiah 47:10 (Message)

You thought you knew so much, had everything figured out. What delusion! Smugly telling yourself, ‘I’m Number One. There’s nobody but me.’

When Bad is

2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

Deuteronomy 4:1 (NIV)

Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you. (the carrot)

Deuteronomy 4:3-4 (NIV)

You saw with your own eyes what the Lord did at Baal Peor. The Lord your God destroyed from among you everyone who followed the Baal of Peor, but all of you who held fast to the Lord your God are still alive today. (the stick)

Deuteronomy 4:9 (NIV)

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

Deuteronomy 28:3-7 (NIV)

3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you.

Isaiah 52:9-10 (NKJV)

“Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem! The Lord has made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.”

James 2:13 (NIV)

“Mercy triumphs over judgment.”
