PSALM 23:6 (NIV)

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

PSALM 23:6 (GW)

Certainly, goodness and mercy will stay close to me all the days of my life,
and I will remain in the Lord’s house for days without end.

[1] The Shepherd gives me in the goodness of God!

[a] If you are highly confident in the goodness of God… that’s a sign of a

  • : WHEN GOD GIVES ME WHAT I DON’T DESERVE

  • : WHEN GOD DOESN’T GIVE ME WHAT I DO DESERVE

Psalm 103:2-13 (LB)

Yes, I will bless the Lord and not forget the glorious things he does for me.

He forgives all my sins. He heals me. He ransoms me from hell. He surrounds me with loving-kindness and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things! My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! He gives justice to all who are treated unfairly. He revealed his will and nature to Moses and the people of Israel.

He is merciful and tender toward those who don’t deserve it; he is slow to get angry and full of kindness and love. He never bears a grudge, nor remains angry forever. 10 He has not punished us as we deserve for all our sins, 11 for his mercy toward those who fear and honor him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far away from us as the east is from the west. 13 He is like a father to us, tender and sympathetic to those who reverence him.

Hebrews 4:16 (NCV)

Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it.

[c] I can be confident because God’s goodness is watching over me

Psalm 91:11 (LB)

For he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go.

Psalm 145:20 (NIV)

The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

  • His home will become my home!

Isaiah 63:15 (NLT)

15 Lord, look down from heaven; look from your holy, glorious home, and see us.

Where is the passion and the might you used to show on our behalf? Where are your mercy and compassion now?

Acts 7:55 (NLT)

55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

  • Heaven is a not a state of mind

2 Corinthians 5:1 (NCV)

We know that our body—the tent we live in here on earth—will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a house for us. It will not be a house made by human hands; instead, it will be a home in heaven that will last forever.

  • If we aren’t excited it’s because we have the

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV)

Romans 9:23 (NLT)

23 He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory

Ephesians 2:5-7 (NIV)

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Luke 10:20 (NIV)

20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV)

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Philippians 4:3 (ESV)

Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Revelation 3:5 (ESV)

The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
