Made For More – Part 2: The Good Stuff!

September 11, 2022

Acts 1:8 (NIV)

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

[1] The “Good Stuff” God Has for Us Is !

  • The Holy Spirit empowers us the best us we can be!

John 16:8-11 (TLB)
And when he (the Holy Spirit) has come he will convince the world of its sin, and of the availability of God’s goodness, and of deliverance from judgment. 9 The world’s sin is unbelief in me; 10 there is righteousness available because I go to the Father and you shall see me no more; 11 there is deliverance from judgment because the prince of this world has already been judged.

  • The Holy Spirit also empowers us what God has assigned us to do!

1 Corinthians 12:1;7 (TLB)

I want to write about the special abilities the Holy Spirit gives to each of you7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

John 17:18 (MSG)
(Jesus said) — In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world.

[2] The “Good Stuff” God Has for Us Is !

  • The Holy Spirit wants to empower and transform our !

Ephesians 6:18 (CEV)
Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit.

Romans 8:26-27 (TLB)
The Holy Spirit helps us … in our praying. For we don’t even know what we should pray for nor how to pray as we should, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling (with groanings) that it cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father knows … what the Spirit is saying as he pleads for us in harmony with God’s own will.

  • The Holy Spirit wants to empower and transform our !

Ephesians 5:18-20 (NIV)
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 16:25-26 (CEV)
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, while the other prisoners listened. 26 Suddenly a strong earthquake shook the jail to its foundations. The doors opened, and the chains fell from all the prisoners.

[3] The “Good Stuff” God Has for Us Is !

Acts 2:39 (NLT)

This promise (of a Divine Helper and empowering ability) is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles—all who have been called by the Lord our God.

  • We must be willing to !

Luke 11:9-10;13 (NLT)

Jesus said — “So I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

13 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”

  • We must be willing to do something that !
